Keeping Your Hair Healthy In Winter

Winter is the driest and coldest season we have, and while the change of pace from typical Texas humidity is nice, the change in temperature can wreak havoc on your hair. While you can't change the weather, you can change how you manage your hair in the winter to maintain its healthiness.

Regular Conditioning

The easiest way to ensure your hair is getting the moisture it needs is with regular conditioning treatments. Hopefully you're only washing your hair once or twice a week, but every time you do wash your hair, follow it with a thorough conditioning. Start at the ends of your hair and work your way up, but feel free to leave your roots alone; this will make sure you're not making your hair overly greasy.

Deep Conditioning

At least once a week during the winter apply a deep conditioning mask to your hair. Choose one with a thick texture that boasts a variety of moisturizing ingredients and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. You could also consider adding a deep conditioning treatment to your hair the night before you wash your hair and leave it on while you sleep. Wash it out in the morning to reveal shinier and healthier hair. If you have bleached hair, use Olaplex's at-home treatment to rebuild your hairs' bonds and decrease the chances of breakage.

In-Salon Treatments

For the ultimate shine, ask you stylist for a gloss treatment at your text appointment. Similar to a clear topcoat you would add to your nail polish, a gloss treatment seals in split ends and boosts the shine of your hair. Shinier health looks healthier and it will be the envy of all of your friends. If you're a current client at Bee Cave Hair Salon, and you refer a friend or family member, you will enjoy a free gloss treatment at your next appointment. We look forward to meeting your family and friends!
